Ginger Lemon Wellness Shots

When I’m looking for a simple way to support my immune system and start the day feeling energized, I always come back to ginger shots. They’re bold, invigorating, and packed with ingredients that have been used for generations to support overall wellness.

This version is one I make at home using whole lemons, fresh ginger, warming spices, and plenty of water or coconut water to keep it refreshing. It’s spicy, bright, and easy to customize depending on how strong you like it. I’ll often make a batch at the beginning of the week and keep it in the fridge for a quick daily boost.

Think of this as a small but powerful ritual — simple ingredients, blended together, meant to support your body and keep you feeling your best.

Ingredients:

  • 2 whole lemons, thoroughly washed

  • 1 large knob fresh ginger, thoroughly washed

  • 1 teaspoon ground turmeric

  • 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

  • ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust to taste — very spicy)

  • Cold water or coconut water, to fill

  • Raw honey, to taste (optional)

  • Ice (optional)

METHOD:

1. Cut the lemons into quarters, removing any visible seeds.

2. Roughly chop the ginger. (No need to peel if well washed.)

3. Add lemons, ginger, turmeric, black pepper, cayenne, and ice (if using) to a high-speed blender.

4. Fill with cold water or coconut water until ingredients are fully submerged.

5. Blend until completely smooth.

6. Taste and add raw honey if desired.

7. Strain if you prefer a smoother shot, or enjoy as-is for maximum fiber.

How to Use

  • Pour into small glasses and enjoy as a daily wellness shot

  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3–4 days

  • Shake well before serving
