Nourish Mama Smoothie

Pregnancy has a way of bringing everything back to the basics — rest, nourishment, and caring for your body in a gentle, intentional way. As I get ready to step into the role of grandmother, I’ve been thinking a lot about how we support moms during pregnancy and those early months of motherhood, when simple nourishment can make such a difference.

This Nourish Mama Smoothie is one of my favorite ways to do just that. It’s easy to make, packed with nutrient-dense ingredients, and designed to support both mom and baby — whether you’re pregnant, newly postpartum, or simply looking for a nourishing start to the day. Think of it as a small, steady way to care for yourself when life feels full and busy.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup organic milk or almond milk

  • ½ frozen banana

  • ½ cup frozen blueberries

  • 1 big handful spinach

  • ¼ avocado

  • ½–¾ cup plain Greek yogurt

  • 1 tbsp chia seeds

METHOD:

1. Start by gathering all the ingredients.

2. Blend until smooth. Add ice if desired.

3. Once blended, taste the smoothie. If you like it sweeter, add additional honey or agave to taste and blend again briefly to mix.
