German Cabbage Salad
2 pounds green or savoy cabbage
6 dessert spoons oil
1/8 Liter white vinegar
1 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
1 tsp caraway seeds
60g smoked bacon
Cut the cabbage in half and remove the core. Cut the cabbage into very thin slices or
grate it finely into a bowl.
Mix together the cabbage with the oil, apple cider vinegar, salt, pepper and the
whole caraway seeds, mix well, cover and leave to rest for 1 hour
Cut bacon in small cubes and brown in a pan. Drain on paper towels. Just before
serving, sprinkle over the cabbage salad if you like.
